Motherhood

 Rachel needs to ask her father what he did to create the rift between her and me. He was the architect of the alienation, passively supporting and augmenting it while his sister and mother acted aggressively to implement it.

Until Rachel resolves the cognitive dissonance that fuels her anxious and reactive emotions, and thereby truly resolves her fractured relationship with me, she will not be able to be a mother herself.
